The project that I am partially interested in is the Steam Portraits. Shooting with glass and water.
A simple background is used in the photographs. The colour which is use as the background is a neutral colour. Which I think is important as I think it would take over the photograph. It seems that a glass sheet is in front of the subject and water is on the glass that has been steamed up. It looks like the photograph has then been taken with this setup. There is also one with the subject wearing glasses that are steamed up instead.
