Techniques Test
I have taken a photograph that I have taken and changed it digitally. The photograph was not taken for this purpose. I just wanted to use it to test some techniques out. I have changed it in different ways trying to take something away. I have also used an image that is a building.
This is the original image that I am using to do tests of techniques on.
What I have done above is tried tomato the building disappear. Make it merge into the background of the sky. I have tried to do this by choosing a colour similar to the sky that is surrounding it. I feel that this does work at the top of the building. Though I don't think this works so well at the base of the buildings. I think that this is because of the other buildings around the base highlights that there was a building there. As the shape left behind for the shard is unusual to the rest of the photograph.
I have then done something similar to the image above but this time, I have done it in white. This time, I was not doing anything to hide what has been taken away. I just simply took the building away.
With this image, I didn't really take away anything. I just added lines around all the buildings. But I did get interested in the lines a continued with it.
What I did then do was completely take away the image just leaving the line. I think this works. I still see it as a collection of buildings and not a load of shapes put together. But maybe because they are more recognisable shapes of buildings it works. I feel though without the outline of the shard it wouldn't work as well.
This time, I just left the shard. Though I feel that the outline is important. I think it gives it a nice straight solid finish.
