Layering Techniques
These are techniques that have had an added layer to the photograph. I have done three examples for this.
The first is a thin layer of paint.
This is acrylic paint that has been watered down. This was done because I wanted it to be slightly transparent and not blocking of the whole photograph.
This is where I added another layer to put on top.
I printed the same photograph twice. I then cut out the building on the second copy. Using foam squares I built them up and stuck it on to of the first copy of the photograph. This then makes the building stand out. This can't really be sheen from the scan. There is a slight shadow along the edge.
The final one is layers of glue.
I thought with a lot of layers it would start to make it look foggy/unclear. After a lot of flyers this did not happen. But it became glossy and reflective. Hiding information when light is reflected.
