Taking Away Techniques

Taking Away Techniques

This is where I used several techniques that involved removing part of the photograph.

The first being what I am calling a frame.

This is where I have removed most of the photographs information. Just leaving a frame of the photograph behind.

Another example I tried was burning the photograph.

It doesn't have the effect that I thought it would have.

The next technique is more of a resist. This was done before printing to stop the ink going on to the paper.

Before printing I used glue and then printed on top. Once printed I then wiped of the excess ink. If this was more controlled on a certain area.

The next one is cutting out uncertain area completely.

Here I have cut out the main building in the photograph taking it away completely. Just leaving the shape behind.

The following and the last is scratching of the Photograph.

For this I scratched in the details of the building. I used a needle to do this. In some areas it has taken more off. This can look messy.
